ESTABLISHING FOOD SECURITY WITH SURPLUS FOOD..
Zen Siete Surplus is going above and beyond towards the future of food waste. Up to 40% of food is wasted in the US, according to the United States Department of Agriculture. Zen Siete Surplus aims to combat food waste by repackaging nutritious surplus food to distribute to those in need in communities abroad, allowing us to promote food sustainability and a cleaner environment. There are many ways you can contribute to our causes. We are very interested in partnering with local churches, food banks, and corporate entities to expand our movement. We are looking to continue our mission and message to as many as we can about recycling food. Food-scrap recycling has multiple benefits. Food scraps can be used for composting, which enriches the soil and reduces emissions of methane (a potent greenhouse gas) from landfills. This process also saves cities and towns money by lowering the needed frequency of trash collection. Learn more about how you can get involved and take advantage of the opportunity to help our communities. We are dedicating ourselves to creating a team of people who are equally as passionate about putting an end to hunger and a cleaner planet.
Food Sustainability
Zen Siete Surplus wants to work collaboratively with businesses and governments to develop sustainable solutions that reduce wasted food, hunger and also build stronger communities. Reducing wasted food is a triple win; it's good for the economy, for communities, and for the environment. Let's all win together!
ABOUT FOOD RECYCLING
How we recycle surplus food.
We take nutritious surplus food from local food banks and partner with other charities and feed those in need.
Partner with local restaurants, food vendors, and caterers by donating their surplus food and feeding those in need.
We collect {Green Waste}food scraps like coffee grounds, filters, paper products & tea bags from local businesses in return take it to be recycled for soil enrichment and give back to the local farmers for better crops.
Serving plant-based menus when we cater to events. We use environmentally biodegradable plates, utensils, and additive-free charcoal with serving nutritious meals. Afterward, we dispose of the remaining food waste including the additive-free charcoal with bags, biodegradable plates, utensils, and take it all to the recycling complex after serving those in need.
Through personal outreach with the homeless, encourage the recycling of green waste and plastic products (cans, bottles) to enhance financial sustainability
